Without Me

[Spoilers E99]: I had to... With apologies to Laura Bailey *harp music*, Sam Riegel, and Eminem.

This is also not a song Scanlan sings on Critical Role.  We'll get back to your (ir)regularly scheduled programming eventually... Maybe... Eh, who the heck knows.  The lyrics for this song can be found here.

Somebody That We Used To Know

[Spoilers E85]: So this is not a song that Scanlan sang on the show Critical Role...BUT SCANLAN LEFT SO THIS IS WHAT YOU GET!

...kidding.  This is a song that Bill Berndtson on Youtube requested from me.  Brian Wayne Foster made this joke on his show Talks Machina, a Twitch/Alpha show where the cast of CR discuss the events of past episodes.  If you haven't seen the show, I highly recommend it.  The lyrics are here, the Youtube video is here, and the (free) mp3 download is in the audio player itself, above. If you have more requests for Scanlan Songs you want me to do, feel free to reach out to me @CrosswaitMusic

Thordak the Cinder King

More requests, yo!  @Jackal9861 asked me to make this for him- Scanlan's song of inspiration before facing the gargantuan fiery dragon known as Thordak.  Who, technically, has a red nose.  This is for all you Critters who are starting to celebrate Christmas either very late or very very early.  The lyrics are here, the Youtube video is here, and the mp3 download is in the audio player itself, above.  If that link doesn't work, shoot me a tweet and I'll fix it.  If you have more requests for Scanlan Songs you want me to do, feel free to reach out to me @CrosswaitMusic

Eye of the Goliath

My first official request from Twitter!  A huge thanks to @ThoseCloudyDaze for the fantastic idea.  This is Scanlan's inspiration to Grog during his second fight in the Crucible.  The lyrics are here, the mp3 is here, and the Youtube video is here.  If you have more requests for Scanlan Songs you want me to do, feel free to reach out to me @CrosswaitMusic

Pit Fiend Baby

Here's the brilliant Britney Spears cover from the battle with the Pit Fiend in Episode 76.  Terrifying battle... Epic song.  You can find the lyrics here, the mp3 download here, and the Youtube video here

Remember the Role

I'm happy to present my fellow bard's rap debut!  Joe "RenoHex" King (who also wrote Scan Shorty) rewrote these lyrics to the beat of Remember the Name by Fort Minor.  He also took up the challenge of rapping Percy's verses in the song!  Scanlan gets to sing as often as he wants, so this song instead features Percy, Grog, and Vax rapping about brutal critical damage and trickshots.  The lyrics can be found on reddit here and the mp3 can be downloaded here, and the Youtube video can be found here

Stahnn

On reddit, u/StarVaft wrote up this awesome cover of Eminem's Stan.  On a radio station I like to listen to, they do Twofer Tuesdays, so here's your Eminem twofer for this Tuesday! StarVaft's lyrics can be found here, the Youtube video can be watched here, and the mp3 can be downloaded here

Lose Yourself

Taken from the Vorugal fight, this was one of my favorite Scanlan songs to work on.  This is my take on Sam's cover of Eminem's Lose Yourself that Scanlan performed while summoning Yenk the Goristro.  The lyrics can be found here, the Youtube video can be found here, and the mp3 can be found here

White Dragon

Here's a Christmas song from the Vorugal fight, to the tune of Irving Berlin's White Christmas.  You can find the lyrics here, the mp3 here, and the Youtube video here.  Happy Christmas, Hanukkah, Holidays, or just plain Critmas, if you prefer.

Cheap Heals

A while back on the subreddit, u/Groghammer posted some awesome lyrics to Sam's Cheap Heals cover.  You can find that post here.  I've borrowed his lyrics for the first half of this song and adapted some new lyrics to finish it out.  You can find the full lyrics here, the mp3 download is here, and the Youtube video is on my channel here.  Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Scanlan's Eyes

For too long, I've been making these without a song devoted to poop jokes.  No longer!  Please enjoy this cover of Hall and Oates' Private Eyes.  The lyrics are here and you can download the mp3 here.  Also, I've been asked to upload these to Youtube to make listening and sharing easier, so if you'd prefer to listen over there, feel free to follow the Scanlan Songs channel here

My Shot

I've been excited about this song for a very long time, as a massive Hamilton fan.  This is based on Sam's cover of Lin-Manuel Miranda's My Shot from the hip hop musical Hamilton (which is awesome, btw).  One new thing about this Scanlan Song is that there are parts for every member of Vox Machina!  Fantastic vocalist Danita Gilbert sings AND raps as Keyleth, Vex, and Pike!  Tweet love at her @taurigeek and check out her Youtube channel, GateGeek, where you can find more Critter-themed music!  If you'd like to download the mp3 for this song, click here, and if you'd like to see the lyrics click here. Small side note: I was asked to post these to Youtube to make listening/sharing easier, so if you'd rather listen to them there, feel free to check it out here

It's Us (Excerpt)

I hang out on the Critical Role subreddit (r/criticalrole) and /u/28PostsLater made a post a while back requesting a Vox Machina version of Non Phixion's It's Us.  /u/RenoHex (who also wrote Scan Shorty) posted some pretty killer lyrics and I figured I'd give Grog's verse a shot.  I would like to RAP! The original post can be found here, RenoHex's lyrics can be found in the comments section here, and the mp3 download is here.  Bidet!

Talkin' Percy

A song about our favorite gunslinger! Keep on building crazy things, Taliesin! Here are the lyrics and here is the mp3 download.

Small technical note: I ran out of pages that I'm allowed to host on this site, so I've started to move all the song lyrics to one page.  I hopefully have updated all the links, but feel free to let me know if I missed one.

Less technical note: For any of you Tove Lo fans out there, I made a rock and roll cover of this same song with a couple friends of mine about a year ago.  If you'd like to hear that, you can find it on my soundcloud here

The Critter

Here is another silly Scanlan song.  Completely out of my range.  Oh well.  This is a cover of The Joker by Steve Miller Band.  Here are the lyrics and here is the mp3 download.

I Didn't See Vax

This feels appropriate to post today for some reason... (no spoilers).  In this song Sam covers Ace of Base's The Sign to describe a certain rogue's ridiculous stealth checks.  You can find the lyrics here and the mp3 download here.

The Real Scan Shorty

On reddit, u/StarVaft wrote up this awesome cover of Eminem's Stan.  On a radio station I like to listen to, they do Twofer Tuesdays, so here's your Eminem twofer for this Tuesday! StarVaft's lyrics can be found here, the Youtube video can be watched here, and the mp3 can be downloaded here

Inspiration

Here's a little mashup of some classic Scanlan songs covering Journey and Sia.  Side note #1: If you're someone like me who likes their music to always have album art, allow me to assist!  This is the cover art for the album I sent the cast/crew for Critmas.  I can't claim that it's good art, but it has Bigby's Hand playing the drums and that makes me happy.  Side note #2: if you haven't seen E52 yet, go watch it right now!  It's worth the 4.99 monthly sub for this episode alone.  As always, the mp3 download is here and the lyrics are here

Semi-Fucked Fight

This is probably my favorite Scanlan song to work on to date; a cover of Third Eye Blind's Semi Charmed Life.  I tried to make this song about Grog (as it was intended), but it ended up being about Pike's magnificent return during the Briarwood arc.  Parental discretion advised.  The mp3 is here and the lyrics are here

Health

Fellow Critter and vocalist extraordinaire Richard Vandertulip worked with me via the internet to arrange and record this A Capella mashup of a few Scanlan songs.  We happened to finish working on it in time for the 1 year anniversary of Critical Role!  You can tweet at him @TheSingingNerd.  The mp3 is here and the lyrics are here.  Congratulations to the cast and crew of Critical Role on their one year anniversary!

Another Scanlan song for everyone: this one is a Taylor Swift cover (although Shake It Off is not Grog's jam...)  I had a lot of fun writing the parts of the song Sam didn't sing on the show.  The mp3 is here and the lyrics are here.  Thanks so much for listening!

Hi fellow Critters!  I made another song based on Scanlan's musical interludes.  The original song is Bad by Michael Jackson.  For those interested, the mp3 is here and the lyrics are here.  Feel free to let me know if you like it, or if there's another Scanlan song you want me to make a reality.  Twitter's probably the easiest way to do that.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words about my last track!  This time, I rewrote LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem around Sam's freestyle on Critical Role.  You can download the mp3 here.  The lyrics are here.  I'm on Youtube, Twitter, and Facebook if you're into that kind of thing.  Enjoy!
